Life with Dhammapada 53

තමන් කැමති උදවිය සමග පමණ ඉක්මවා හිත මිත්‍රකම් ඇතිකරගන්ට එපා! අප්‍රිය පුද්ගලයන් හා හිතමිතුරුකම් කොහෙත්ම ඕනෙ නෑ. ප්‍රියයන්ට ඇළුණොත්, ඔවුන් දකින්ට නොලැබීමෙන් දුක් ඇතිවෙනවා. අප්‍රිය පුද්ගලයන් දකින්ට ලැබීමෙනුත් දුක් ඇතිවෙනවා

 

ධම්මපදය පිය වග්ගය

 

Applying oneself to what should be avoided, not applying oneself to what should be pursued, and giving up the quest, one who pursues affection envies those who exert themselves.
